Music Therapy - Articles, Conference and Research Reports
There has been much debate in Music Therapy about training, practice and research. We also need to consider who buys this service in the UK and how we/they contract for it. Relationships between the public sector and voluntary/charity sector are changing. Government is seeking to build capacity in the voluntary sector to deliver the services currently provided by county councils, LAs, LEAs, Social and Health Care Services.
In 2000 the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust received funding from the Music Research Institute to carry out research into the efficacy of music therapy as an intervention for young people aged between 11-18 years presenting with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptomatology.
